Ruffy

Ruffy is an approx 5 YO saddlebred cross who came to River Edge Farm Horse Rescue a short 6 months ago. They lived in a quarter acre lot with 8 other horses before he got with a few others and were found at large. As no surprise due to their living situation, Ruffy and the others were very thin due to neglect and starvation. He has settled in nicely with the herd and has gained weight. We are excited to give Ruffy the chance to shine and show his trainer and everyone else that he will make a safe and confident mount for his new owner where they will live happily ever after.   

Brandon Joseph

Brandon Joseph is the lead trainer at Hope and Joy Farms in Woodbury, TN. He is a graduate of Western Michigan University where he studied Health Sciences. He received his Masters Degree in Sports Administration from the United States Sports Academy in 2009. Upon moving to Tennessee, Brandon began a training internship program under Sal Landa at Cornerstone Horse Farm. He began training professionally in 2015 and has since purchased a farm with his family. He is married to Melissa LaDuc and their twin daughters, Lexie and katie are 12 years old.
Brandon grew up with family horses, but did not begin really riding until 1998. He trains all disciplines and prides himself in principal influences from the Tom Dorrence lineage. His goal is to create a light and respectful horse and establish a strong relationship between the horse and rider. He seeks to glorify God each day in his relationships and actions.

Brandon Joseph is proud to represent his farm on this journey. Hope and Joy Farms is a full service farm dedicated to the horse and rider. The farm was born when his family decided to live closer to God’s creations. He believes each day is a gift and promises to care for your horses as if they were his own. The staff at the farm is trained in equine first aid and the loving care for your horses will be unmatched. He believes the horse and its relationship with the rider is unique and worth developing. With patience and proper training, the horse and rider can learn from each other. Hope and Joy Farms is nestled in the rolling hills of middle Tennessee. This twenty-eight acre pastoral setting is a fully functional farm and holds opportunity for both retreat and adventure. With wooded trails and pasture riding available, it is a destination for horse and owner alike to enjoy the scenic landscape. A two acre multi-use pond with a gazebo and fire pit create a place to gather after a day of riding. We count ourselves blessed to have found such a place of beauty and we would love to share it with you. Come on by to unwind and check out our facilities.
